Palm Software from Other Developers
pDraft
from
Harry Konstas:
A feature-intensive electronics drafting application
that allows you to quickly draw and view detailed electronic schematic diagrams on your Palm Handheld.
Calcul-8
from David E.H. Griffiths:
IMHO, simply the best Palm OS calculator available with myriad common scientific functions, unit conversions, as well as
viewing as Hex, Dec, and Oct. I can't beleive this Palm app is also freeware.
If you want to input nautical miles in octal, multiply it by furlongs input as decimal and see the result as binary parsecs then Calcul-8 will do that, too
Filez
from NoSleep Software:
The _DEFINITIVE_ Palm OS file utility. I seriously can't see how you are running your Palm without this freeware app.
I'm not really sure why all Palms aren't coming straight out of the factory with Filez in the ROM.
RsrcEdit
from Quartus:
An onboard resource editor much like ResEdit for the Mac. Includes templates for the most common resource types and
integral hex editor and disassembler. Very useful even though it has not been updated to deal with all the types that it
could.
AsciiChart
by John Valdés:
Exactly what you think it is (and freeware!)
Noah Lite
from ArsLexis:
A freeware dictionary containing something in the neighborhood of 37k definitions. Organized in such a way as to also
make a fine thesaurus.
The VA3PKH Palm Ham Page from Peter K. Hodgson: A comprehensive list and links of Palm OS software useful to amateur radio operators. TONS of great stuff here! If you're a ham this page alone may make you want to go straight out and get a Palm if you don't already have one! Nicola Ferralis' Palm Software Page: Includes several Palm freeware applications from Nicola of specialized interest such as a gas adsorption rate calculator and a Helium Atom Scattering beam features calculator.
For creative, innovative, and sometimes a bit off of the wall variety of programs for hand held devices,
visit Skinny Frog Software.
